The center-ring is a safety device that allows the collar to roll over on the dog neck should he get his collar caught on a fence, limb, etc and often frees him. You can clip a lead or leash to the center-ring. These are double-ply nylon and resin treated to prevent fraying. PLEASE NOTE: Collar size is the dogs actual neck measurement, not the length of the collar. I.E. A 16" collar fits a 15" to 17" neck.
